September 25th, 2015: Hey… It’s Hannah, Remember Me?

Life

Hey y’all! I cannot believe it’s almost October… Like what the heck! Today I’m just going to fill ya in on some random life things so I hope I don’t bore you. 😉

I just completed a financial class at my church written by Rachel Cruze, Dave Ramsey’s daughter, called Generation Change. Kinda cheesy but I HIGHLY recommend it! It’s designed specifically for high school and college students. It’s made me think more about what I’m spending my Gods money on. So I’m on a budget now. I know, how exciting! Is it weird that I find saving money fun? Okay yeah super weird. I will say buying these shoes would be so much more fun… Sorry Dave!

I haven’t been shopping in like a month and I’m getting a little stir crazy… (My wish list on Nordstrom is getting out. Of. Control.)

On to the next random thing, I graduated from a Prep School (shoutout to Wylie Prep!) and it was pretty challenging (sounds way more fancy than it is, lol.) I learned so much during high school. I learned how to organize, study, manage my time, take notes, and make genuine friendships. I figured that I was well prepared for college.

Boy, is college hard. While I am WAY more prepared than like 95% of my classmates, it is still difficult! It is not necessary the class subjects or material that are difficult, but rather how in the world am I supposed to get all this stuff done. I’m taking 5 classes this semester (thanks to my older sister who took 5 classes a semester her entire college career AND graduated in 4 years AND graduated with honors. Why did you have to set the bar so high?!?) and it’s kicking my booty. Finding time to do homework, work, spend time with friends and family, and be involved in ministry… Lol. It’s pretty comical.

I think I failed my history test yesterday. How does one, who has literally taken 6 years of American History, fail an American History test? I don’t know.

This adult stuff is hard! And I don’t even have many responsibilities. I’ve pretty much decided I just can’t adult.

I’ve been spending more time with my nephew, Ryder, over the past few months and he seriously makes me so happy. Three year olds say the cutest things! His new thing is telling me, “I love you to the moon.” My heart just about melts.

thumb_IMG_3501_1024

“Hey Nana, I look like a clown.” I can’t handle the cuteness, y’all.

I’m headed back to NYC in November! AH. New York is easily one of my most favorite places to go! It is truly magical. I’ve never been in November so I’m super excited! I’ve been to NYC several times but I want to try some new restaurants and shops this trip so if anyone has any suggestions you can shoot me an email or comment belong!

Last random thing, I’m headed to College Station this weekend to see my bff, Kaleigh! I’ve never been to College Station so I hope it’s as great as everyone says… (I’ll get back to you on that.)

Sorry to bore you with all my random life updates but I hope everyone has an awesome weekend! 🙂

Always,

Hannah

P.S. I can’t say sorry enough for my absence. I know everyone has busy lives so I’m not even going to get in to that excuse. Instead I’ll just say that I’ve been living my life a little disconnected from the Internet. As I’ve said before, my family and relationships with people (in the here and now) are, at this season in my life, more important than a blog post. Sorry to my readers! 🙂

Thursday September 3rd, 2015: Everyday Style

Fashion

I love me a good t-shirt. I’m talking the type you can throw on with jeans, shorts, a skirt, or maybe even Nike shorts. Being a new college student I can attest to the fact that when you have a 8:30 class you have NO desire to get cute. Well today I’m sharing one of the easiest outfits that doesn’t take too much effort.

This thin Old Navy shirt (which I have in 5 different colors) paired with a pair of jeans, some simple sandals and a tassel necklace looks like you didn’t just roll out of bed, but you’re not ready to walk the runway. AKA the perfect look for a college student, Saturday full of errands, or new mom. Hope everyone has an awesome Thursday. 🙂

Wednesday September 2nd, 2015: Cobalt Blue Dress

Fashion

Happy Wednesday! Classes started last week and I’m getting used to my new school and work schedule. I’m trying to not get overwhelmed but wow this semester is going to involve lots of coffee and a few too many headaches. BUT this dress makes all those fears fade away.

I stumbled across the most adorable boutique, Hazel & Olive, on Instagram a few weeks ago and I’ve been obessedddd (and they have an online store!) Oh. My. Goodness. First off, cobalt blue is officially one of my favorite fall colors! It is such an unexpected pop but can be paired beautifully with cognac boots, brown hats, or a plaid scarf. Second off, those scallop details… *insert heart-eye emoji* One day I was swiping through my Instagram feed when I saw Hazel & Olive added this dress. Approximately one day later, I was a proud new owner of an adorable cobalt blue dress. I wore this dress to church, took a nap in it, and even made a trip to Target in it. It looked as good at 9 PM as when I had put it on at 9 AM. That’s my kind of dress! Hope everyone has an awesome day. 🙂

Tuesday August 18th, 2015: Rompin’ Around

Fashion

I picked up this romper a few months back at Nordstorm Rack (the same trip I scored some AMAZING tan heels I wore in this post.) I’ve been loving rompers these days. They’re so much fun. I can’t find an exact link for this romper BUT I’m linking several other rompers in different styles and price points! Happy Tuesday!

Wednesday June 17th, 2015: She Wears A White Dress

Fashion

Happy Wednesday! When I tried on this dress I couldn’t stop singing White Dress by Parachute (my favorite band). So that may or may not have been the reason I bought this dress, LOL. Well I’m kinda obsessed with this dress! It’s full of details and so girly. I posted about it here a few weeks ago and I wore it to a graduation as seen on my Insta here. FYI, I bought these shoes a few months back at Nordstorm Rack and can’t find them online so I’m linking a few similar pairs. 🙂

Sorry for the inconsistency of my blog posts… I was in Los Angeles last week on a missions trip with my youth group. We had the opportunity to serve with the LA Dream Center. It was, by far, one of the best weeks of my life. I’ll be sharing more about that in the next few days, don’t worry! 🙂

Blessings,

Hannah

Fashion

Happy Wednesday! I’m wearing one of my favorite sweaters. It’s so versatile. I can wear it by itself, with a collared shirt layered under it, or like this with with a lace undershirt. Having a sweater like this is in your closet is key! Hope everyone is having a great week. 🙂

Fashion

Happy Monday! Yesterday was such a beautiful day! The weather was 70 so I got to wear sandals… 🙂 As much as I like the cold weather, I just LOVE the warmer weather. But today I’m sharing an outfit that is very typical for us Texans! We can’t wear thick sweaters because by noon its so hot… So I have to stick to layers and scarfs. I love the texture of the sweater mixed with the pattern of the scarf. Here’s to an awesome week! 🙂

Friday February 6th, 2015: Loving Pinterest

Favorite Fridays

Happy Friday! It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Favorite Friday. I’m sharing something I’ve been a little obsessed with recently, Pinterest! It’s where I get a majority of my fashion, food, decor, and party inspiration.

pinterest

One thing that is really easy to do on Pinterest, is get overwhelmed. I’ve been there before! So. Many. Pins. So I’m sharing some tips on how to use Pinterest for it’s maximum potential!

1. Stay Organized!

I try to keep my boards as organized as possible! This is so important because all those great pins are going to get lost in a board with thousands of pins varying on topics. When I first started using Pinterest I had three boards that I pinned everything to. Over the years I’ve created new boards for more specific purposes (I have 33 now…)

2. Pin What You Truly Might Do, Make, Buy, Etc.

I’m all about dreaming but if all you pin is wedding dresses, mansions, and recipes you’ll never try, you aren’t using Pinterest for all it’s capabilities! Dreaming is awesome but also be realistic. Why is this important? Example: Say you want to plan out your outfit for the day so you head to your Pinterest for some ideas but all you have is red carpet dresses. Sometimes you have to have a mix of both! 🙂

3. Check Out Random Tabs

I’ve learned to check out the “Architecture,” “History,” “Technology,” and “Art” every once in a while to see fresh ideas and pins. I love to see new ideas and get inspiration for fashion and home decor!

4. Have Fun

Pinterest is meant to be fun! Don’t take yourself too seriously. Breathe when you get overwhelmed, and have some fun!

I hope this post has inspired you to use Pinterest more often and have some fun. Follow me on Pinterest at, thatotherhan 🙂

Fashion

Wow. How can it be December already!?!?! The past few months have gone by TOO fast! 😦 Well on a lighter note… I’m sharing one of my favorite shirts! I got this shirt over a year ago at a little booth in Canton (which I don’t remember the name of…). I love elbow pads and I don’t see leather elbow pads very often so I love how it’s unique! Happy Monday!
