Saturday June 11th, 2016: 5 Best Summer Lipsticks

Beauty

My love for lipstick has gotten a little out of control lately. But honestly, I don’t regret it at all… I have been buying some different brands and branching out from my normal colors and I have found some amazing products! So I figured I would narrow down my favorite 5 lipsticks to share for summer.

IMG_8615

I’ve never been a huge fan of drugstore lipsticks because they normally don’t’ last long and since you can’t swatch them I never know how the color will look on my skin. I have to say that I’m starting to like drugstore products more! (Plus you can’t beat the price.) I found several lipsticks from different price points.

  1. NYX Intense Butter Gloss in ‘Napoleon’ ($5.99)

Neopleon

This lipstick’s name perfectly describes it! It’s intense. It’s a gloss, but it’s also buttery. This is technically a gloss but it is the most pigmented gloss I’ve ever used! The color I bought is sort of a coral color. It is such a fun summer color.

2) MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in ‘Coral Bliss’ ($17.99)

Coral Bliss

This is one of my all time favorite lipsticks. This is the perfect coral-y nude color. It’s such an easy color to throw on. It may be a little more expensive than the rest, but it lasts for a long time!

3) NYX Butter Gloss in “Strawberry Cheesecake’ ($4.99)

Strawberry Cheesecake

I’ve never been a fan of lip-glosses, until this one. It’s the perfect shade of light pink. I wore the gloss to work and got SO many compliments.

4) Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in ‘Obsession’ ($7.99)

Obsession

I am IN LOVE with this lipstick! Even though it is considered matte it is not like normal matte lipsticks. It’s creamy and doesn’t move or get crusty when you put your lips together. I own 3 different colors and I have to say this may be my favorite lipstick I’ve ever bought!

5) Stila ‘Stay All Day’ Liquid Lipstick in ‘Bacca’ ($24.00)

Stila Bacca

I was at Sephora the other day and got suckered into buying this lipstick. It is a super matte lipstick so it’s not really creamy, but it is no doubt stay all day! I was thinking the color would be a super bright pink but it ended up looking more like a violet #fairskinprobs.

Let me know if you get any of the lipsticks and I’d love to hear your opinion! Have a great Saturday!

This is my favorite sweater EVER. It’s so pink. It’s so soft. It’s so perfect. I find myself drawn to like 2 colors. Pink or black. LOL. Unfortunately, it was on sale so I found a similar sweater that’s also on sale! Happy Thursday. 🙂

Dress // Shoes (on sale!) // Lipstick in ‘Violet Fatale’ // Purse

I may or may not have gotten this dress at Sear’s for $7. Yep. Sure did.

Shortly after Christmas I ended up at Sear’s with my parents and while they were looking in the tools department I was clearly looking at the clothes department. And of course I found something. #surprise 🙂

I was drawn to this dress because it reminded me of Free People (which is, in my opinion, WAY overpriced). So next time you hate on Sear’s remember this post and how great their sales are 😉

Happy Tuesday!

All I keep thinking about is…

Breaking News: Fashion blogger gets confused as bank robber.

LOL.

But for real, this buffalo print flannel has stolen my heart. It is so simple, but also a statement. I’ve paired it with my leather jacket and it looks so chic! I picked this hat up in China Town the last time I was in NYC for like 5 dollars. It’s so much fun and keeps my ears warm. The weather in Dallas has been SO chilly so I need all the warmth I can get. 🙂

I hope and pray each of you are having a great week!

It’s no secret I’m a shoe hoarder. It’s bad. Actually I think it’s a great quality… but my mom disagrees 😉

I saw these shoes on another blogger and was rushing to Nordstrom approximately two days later. When I tried these shoes on I was worried about my feet being suffocated by the cage. Surprisingly, the shoe is super room-y, but not too big! I think my favorite part of these shoes is the fact that they are a show stopper. Not that my confidence comes from new shoes (materialistic things don’t bring true confidence, that only comes from God, y’all!) but these shoes make me feel like a million bucks.

Also, this black and white combo is SO chic and this might be my favorite look of all time (I know I say that all the time…). 🙂 Happy Thursday!

Skirt: J Crew (the color skirt above is sold out but I’m linking the skirt in a different color) // Similar Sweater // Purse, Similar // Sunglasses // Shoes // Necklace // Lipstick in ‘Violet Fatale’

I’m loving skirts this season! Since I live in Texas and we don’t have a winter (it’s supposed to be 75 on Christmas) skirts are great for looking put together but not too hot! While I was at the J Crew Factory a few weeks ago and spotted this skirt. I am so glad I got it! Here are it’s greatest qualities: 1. the length. Finally something that isn’t grandma long or Britney Spears circa 2003. 2. stretchy waist line. HELLLO. 3. Pockets. That’s all. 4. The color. I was a little skeptical about the color at first but it is such a neutral! Throw on your favorite heels, boots, or flats, and you’ve got a great winter look.

This outfit has a pretty funny story behind it.. During this shoot My friend Abi convinced me to just change in the park we were shooting in instead of walking to my car. So as my two friends are hold a blanket around me a man drives up in a recreation truck. I’m IN THE MIDDLE of changing and I am MORTIFIED. Apparently we were on private property. The experience was terrible. So the moral of the story: Don’t change in a public park. LOL. Happy Monday, y’all!

It’s Friday.

I made it through finals.

God is good.

I’ll be sleeping for the next week.

LOL but in all seriousness I’m so thankful for classes to be over with and I get a nice little break. I’m headed to Oklahoma City for the next two days to celebrate one of my sweet friend’s college graduation. Anything I should check out while I’m there? I hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Pajamas: BP // Mug: Anthropologie // Glasses: Warby Parker

I have a slight obsession with PJs. No lie. My mom makes fun of me because every time we walk into a store I head straight to the Pajamas section. There is just nothing better than a cute pajama set. My mom always got us cute PJs to open on Christmas Eve. I still look forward to this tradition. This year I got my PJs a little early… I just couldn’t resist wearing them. They have pugs on them! How stinkin’ cute?

Happy Tuesday, y’all! I’m sharing a super easy fall outfit. I’m all about scarfs this season. They can pull your outfit together! But there’s a few reasons I love this scarf in particular… Example 1: it’s sooo soft. Example 2: I love the colors. You don’t look like a Christmas tree when you wear it (y’all know what I’m talking about). Example 3: it’s not too thick so you can wear it without breaking a sweat.

I am SO overwhelmed with school.. Classes have not been too hard or challenging so far until the last week. I want to cry at the thought of taking 5 finals in two days. So please pray for me and the unhealthy amount of coffee I’m going to consume in the next 9 days. 😉 Things will probably be quiet around here for the next week so give me some grace, please! I hope everyone has a great day 🙂

Always,

Hannah
